Seven Questions with Fite Founder, Holly Peterson

Did you know that Fite is female-founded? The bad-ass boss lady behind the brand is sharing her story in seven questions today. Have a read below!
1. Why did you choose your present career field at this time?
I couldn't find what I was looking for, there was a void in the marketplace for the kind of shirts I wanted to wear.
2. What was the best/worst moment in your career?
The best moment: I used to work in Real Estate and won Rookie of the Year, it was pretty special as you can imagine there are so many great agents out there.
The worst moment: When you realize you are paying people who are not being honest with you. It happens far too often and is a learning curve, you learn to pick up on the ques and not let it happen again.
3. Who is your Role model or hero:
Katharine Hepburn- she was unapologetic and fiercely independent.

4. What was the exact moment your business idea came to you?

A friend and I were drinking wine in London while playing bridge, I was telling her how I couldn't find a beautiful tee shirt I could wear with everything, and she said why don't we make one! It takes a lot of time, effort and capital to turn an idea like that into reality. It turned out my friend eventually didn't want to go all in, so I decided to continue forging along and pursue Fite on my own! I still really wanted to make that perfect shirt that I couldn't find anywhere.
5. Favorite book:
The Universe Has Your Back: Transform Fear to Faith by Gabrielle Bernstein
6. Do you have any specific methods or systems to run daily ops of your business?

I've employed a very tight-knit team who are strong in their fields and I trust. This helps keep the business operation running smooth. We see each other daily in the office and have candid conversations, it allows for transparency in the office and in our day-to-day.
7. Looking back if you could advise a younger version of yourself to do something different what would it be?
I'd tell my younger self to have a vision and a solid business plan. Be flexible because things will change. To keep sight of the vision and know the path will change but don't forget to stay the course.
